All Saints Anglican Church had its beginning in 1909 with the first service in the current church building on June 9, 1909. The spirit of volunteering, serving, and helping the community has been the spirit of this small prairie Church from its beginning and still holds true today. Although diminished in numbers, the 14 remaining households are bravely continuing an Anglican presence as one of five denominations in Watrous. In 2016 we entered into a partnership agreement with Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church which led us to share a minister/pastor. This partnership has been life-giving for both congregations. In 2018 we successfully renovated the parish hall with support from the diocese. Our hall is used for small community gatherings such as anniversaries, wedding and baby showers, funeral luncheons, College training sessions, the high school Trade Fair, and the local AA group.
We offer pastoral care at the local care facility and senior home as well as a full communion service every five weeks led by the retired Lutheran pastor who lives here. Currently without an incumbent, we nevertheless manage with weekly worship services, alternating between Lutheran and Anglican. Both the SaskSynod and the Diocese, as well as the clergy who come out, have been most generous in their time and support, for which we are deeply grateful. Although few in number, our faith urges us on in mission to make a difference within and outside our own walls.
